Episode 9 - Calvinism (Part 2) | Unconditional Election

Episode 9 continues our tour of TULIP. This is the second installment of a four part series on the doctrines of grace (otherwise known as Calvinism).
 
In this episode, we discuss Unconditional Election.  What it is, what it’s not, as well as the comfort it can provide to the believer.  We also spend a little bit of time unpacking some of the common objections brought against this doctrine.  Overall, the thrust of this episode is to show that Unconditional Election means that God’s love, affections, and choice of us are not dependent on our successes and failures, but are rooted in a surer foundation.

Episode 8 - Calvinism (Part 1) | Total Depravity

Episode 8 is the beginning of our tour of the infamous TULIP. Here we dive into the doctrines of grace (otherwise known as Calvinism).
 
In this episode, we discuss Total Depravity: what it is, why it's humbling, and why we need to recapture it in the church today. Total Depravity means that we're totally dependent on Jesus for salvation.

Episode 7 - Jesus Chooses Misfits and Nobodies (Part 2)

Episode 3 continues our conversation on the kinds of people that Jesus chooses. We’ll explore how the truth of God’s word shatters our expectations of finding heroes and holy examples throughout the pages of scripture.
 
In this episode, we’ll take a journey through the lives of Moses, Israel (the nation), and David.  And there we will see a people, who are not high and mighty, but weak and failing.  And from this vantage point, we behold the grace of God.

On today's episode we continue our conversation on justification (being declared righteous before God through our faith in Christ).
In part 2, we discuss how this doctrine impacts our day-to-day, and the hope this brings to all who struggle with the shortcomings and failures of life.

The Reformers rediscovered the truth that our standing before God does not rest in our own efforts, but is received wholly from the one who has come to save us.

Episode 4 - Union with Christ

On today's episode we discuss the believer's union with Christ.
Luther, Calvin, Murray and others consider union with Christ to be the pivotal doctrine through which we receive all the benefits of salvation. Jesus the Divine Bridegroom takes all of our sin, weakness and impurity. The church recieves all of His righteousness, beauty and perfection. Union with Christ becomes the means through which we have ultimate rest in Christ.

Episode 3 - Jesus Chooses Misfits and Nobodies (Part 1)

Episode 3 is all about the kinds of people that Jesus chooses. We’ll explore how this oftentimes goes against our own expectations.
 
In the episode, we’ll talk about well known Bible figures in the Old Testament like Abraham, Jacob, and Judah. Are they saints or sinners? We’ll dive into their lives and discover that they’re not the kinds of heroes we once thought they were!

Episode 2 - Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)

Episode 2 is an explanation of our understanding of the Bible. What is it? What place does it hold in the Christian life, and what does it teach us?
 
In this episode, we’ll talk about the Reformed doctrine of Sola Scriptura while focusing in on how this doctrine should lead us to a deeper rest in Christ.

Episode 1 - Saint & Sinner

This first episode is an introduction to who we are, what we seek to accomplish, and why we think another podcast is necessary in the Christian world. 
 
In this episode we talk about our particular tradition, and we laser in on accounts like the rich young ruler to share the good news of what Christ has done for his people.
